PM skincare routine for evening or night skin care

How tired are you at night that you almost sleep with your makeup on? Layers of makeup, air pollution, smoke, dust, and whatnot. Our skin goes through a lot after exposure to harsh environmental conditions.

These results to premature aging and skin damage.

Having a regular evening skincare routine will help improve skin condition. It helps tone, reduce skin blemishes, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin.

Follow these simple steps to pamper your skin, even when you are about to sleep.

Remove makeup before going to bed to prevent clogged pores

Remove Your Makeup

Most women love using makeup. Some go over-the-top by using tons of products. Primer, concealer, liquid foundation, setting powder, blush-on, and gazillion other products. With all the products women use to appear like a work of art, no wonder having clogged pores is a common problem.

Ever woken up with a zit that one time, ONE TIME, you forgot to take off your makeup? All those layers of products plus environmental pollution, will suffocate your skin. Take an extra minute to remove your makeup to prevent waking up to a brandnew breakout.

Let your skin breathe and recuperate when you get your zzz's.

An alcohol-free makeup remover will help remove any traces of oils and makeup. Makeup remover wipes are also available if you are too tired to wash your face. (But let's face it, you survived the 1-hour it took to put your makeup on, 5 minutes or less to remove it should not be a problem.)

Oil cleansing is a good idea too. Olive oil or coconut oil are good makeup removing agents that are non-drying. It cleanses the skin and it balances the skin’s natural oils. This leads to a more nourished and moisturized skin, free from makeup residue.

Don't be too lazy to remove the grime away. Your future self will thank you.

Cleanse Your Skin Properly

After removing makeup and impurities, wash your face with a cleanser fit for your skin type. Go for gel-based or water-based cleansers if you have oily skin. Use creamy facial cleansers if you have dry skin.

Skip the habit of using a bar soap to wash your face. Not only is it harsh on your facial skin, it also strips the natural oils that keep your skin young and supple. Soaps leave your skin feeling tight and dry.

For a deep clean, consider Trophy Skin’s Ultrasonic Spatula. It exfoliates and draws impurities and oil from deep within the pores.

use toner to balance your skin's pH

Use a Hydrating Toner

Old formulations of toners are too harsh and have alcohol content but luckily, we are a long way from that. The market is now full of good-quality hydrating toners that help balance the skin's pH levels. Depending on your skin's needs, you can choose from a wide array of toners.

Witchhazel is popular for acne-prone skin. Toners with alpha hydroxy acids are good for those needing exfoliation or reducing hyperpigmentation. Or, if you have dry skin, hydrating ingredients would be your best bet like those with glycerin.

Use eye cream to prevent fine lines

I Scream for Eye Cream

The skin around the eyes is very fragile and sensitive. It is the most delicate area on your entire face and body. It is prone to dryness and it's where aging and fatigue starts showing.

Applying an eye cream can prevent wrinkles and bring back the moisture on the eye-area. It also help reduce dark circles and puffiness.

Do a gentle tapping motion when applying your favorite eye cream. Avoid pulling and tugging to prevent stretching the skin. Eye creams help brighten your under eye area too! For a more hydrating experience, use an undereye mask or patch.

Use Serum for an Added Skin Boost

Another must-have in your evening routine are serums. Think of it as a super-food for your skin. Serums contain the most potent dose of ingredients. Depending on the serum, it may target aging skin concerns and are rich in antioxidants and peptides. Skin brightening serums like those with Vitamin C are also popular.

Niacinamide serums are also becoming popular in treating skin redness and lightening dark marks. Hyaluronic Acid is also a favorite ingredient in most anti-aging serums. It increases the skin's hydration and plumpness.

Use Trophy Skin's Argan Stem Cell Serum to soothe and rejuvenate your skin. It contains argan plant stem cells, hyaluronic acid, green tea extract, and other active ingredients. It has anti-inflammatory properties that makes it the perfect serum post microdermabrasion and light therapy.

Moisturize skin daily

Use a Moisturizer (Even if You Have Oily Skin!)

You should use a moisturizer regardless of whatever skin type you have. Use a quality moisturizer to avoid skin dehydration. Moisturizers help hydrate and protect the skin and keep it from looking dull, dry and tired.

Go for creamy moisturizers with nourishing ingredients to hydrate dry skin.

If you have oily skin, don't think you don't need to moisturize. You do. And skip the normal tub of creamy moisturizers, it will make your skin oilier. Check out gel-based moisturizers to balance your skin's hydration instead.

apply lip balm or lip serum

Apply Your Favorite Lip Balm

The lips have thin skin and it has no sebaceous glands. This means that it cannot make its own oils to keep it moisturized. It also has no melanin, which gives it no natural protection from the sun, adding more to dryness.

Keep your lips luscious and kissable by applying lip balm. Make sure you wiped off your lipstick to let your lips free of synthetic ingredients.

You can also use our collagen-infused lip serum for hydrated, extra plump lips.
