A few years ago, you have to book appointments to your favorite esthetician or medical spas to get microdermabrasion. Nowadays, you can have microdermabrasion treatment without having to leave your home.
Trophy Skin is one of the leaders in home microdermabrasion. The company is known for its microdermabrasion devices such as MicrodermMD, RejuvadermMD, and MiniMD. All of these devices do a great job in removing dead skin cells that gives the skin a dull complexion. The results are comparable to having professional treatment done that's why people are in love with these devices.
Apart from the impeccable craftsmanship, the reason why these at-home microdermabrasion devices are so popular is because of the diamond tip that it comes with. Other brands may have rotating discs that sand-off the skin, but Trophy Skin's diamond tips are stationary, making it easier for users to control the exfoliation process.
It is similar to what estheticians use in the clinical setting, giving it a more professional-grade feel. It allows for a more precise cut in the skin, it's more hygienic, and it gives the user the ability to control the intensity of exfoliating the skin.
Aside from the standard diamond tip that comes with every Trophy Skin microdermabrasion device, there are also other Trophy Skin diamond tips that fit MicrodermMD, RejuvadermMD, and MiniMD.
Most of our customers have been confused on how these work so let us help you understand the purpose of each tips.
Standard Diamond Tip
The standard diamond tip is our medium coarseness tip that comes with the MicrodermMD, RejuvadermMD, and MiniMD.
This tip is effective for the face and the entire body. It is made of real diamond bits that is embedded on the tip. It has a plastic body and it can last 3 to 6 months with normal use.
We recommend cleaning the diamond tip with soap, water, and a soft brush after every use. Air dry the tip after washing before inserting back to your microdermabrasion device. You may also use an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner once every few months to give your diamond tip a makeover.
You can get replacements for your microdermabrasion device here.
Fine Diamond Tip
The fine diamond tip is highly recommended for people who have sensitive skin. These are made with finer diamond chips that makes microdermabrasion tolerable for those who have delicate skin.
This tip is safe to use with guaranteed spa-quality results!
Large Diamond Tip or Body Tip
The large diamond tip is what we recommend for larger body parts such as the back and thighs. The bigger diameter of this tip makes microdermabrasion on larger surfaces faster and easier.
It has a coarser tip to exfoliate tougher parts of the body such as the elbows and knees. We do not recommend using this tip on the face because facial skin is more sensitive.
Precision Diamond Tip
You have to keep the diamond tip flush on the skin to maintain suction and when you are working on angular areas of the face, doing this is difficult. To help home users get the most of their microdermabrasion machines, we've designed our Precision Diamond Tip.
The precision diamond Tip is perfect for those hard to reach, delicate and/or angular areas of the face such as around the eyes and nose. With the smaller diameter of the tip, it makes the job easier.
Please note that we highly recommend that you lower the suction level when targeting delicate areas to prevent damaging your skin.
Pore Extraction Tip
The pore extraction tip or the blackheads extractor tool is used to remove excess oil and sebum. It also dislodge blackheads and whiteheads. Use this tip on the lowest suction level to carefully remove pore clogs and impurities.
This tip comes with the MicrodermMD and RejuvadermMD kit. This is made of plastic and may last as long as there is no cracks on the body of the tip.
Check the video below on how to use this accessory.
Pore Infusion Tip
And finally, the pore infusion tip. This is used to make your skincare products and creams work better. This tip allows nutrients and active ingredients from your serums and creams to penetrate your skin deeper.
This should be used with the lowest suction level. Apply your serum or cream without rubbing it in and use this tip to evenly distribute the product on your skin. Notice that your serums will work better and you will see results faster.
Cleaning and After Care for Your Tips
It is important to clean your diamond tips after every use to prevent bacteria from harboring in it. This is important for hygienic purposes and so that your microdermabrasion device is always ready for your next use.
Some people dry brush their tips but it is better to remove it from the wand or microdermabrasion device and wash it. We've included a cleaning brush for MicrodermMD but you may use an old toothbrush, a spoolie brush, or a nail brush too.
Use a gentle soap or you may use your face wash if you prefer. Brush the diamond head lightly, making sure to remove debris from the diamond tip. Rinse with water and let it air dry. You may also use a rubbing alcohol to sanitize the tips (after washing it).
We do not recommend boiling the tip or putting it in an autoclave for sterilization. The body is made of plastic and doing so may damage it.
Also, we do not recommend sharing diamond tips. It is better to get extra tips if you are sharing your microdermabrasion device with your family and friends.
We hope this help shed a light on what diamond tip you should get. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us or drop by in chat.
