Why bother get into light therapy...

Light therapy is not a new concept. In fact, light therapy has been used long before we knew the sciency background of it. Originally referred to as heliotherapy, people believed that exposure to sunlight is beneficial.

It has antibacterial properties. It can improve our mood. It helps convert cholesterol into Vitamin D so we can have stronger bones and so on. But we know that sunlight has UV rays that can damage the skin that's why people looked for ways to make light therapy safer.

Originally researched by NASA to help grow plants in space, red light therapy came in the picture. It affected the plants in the cellular level promoting their growth in the absence of sunlight. And just like that, its effect on humans, especially the skin, was researched.

Everyone got excited on how LED light can improve certain skin conditions and voila, red light therapy flooded the market.

From expensive in-office treatments, now we have several at-home devices that promise to deliver potent light that can treat certain skin conditions. With social media's help, information dissemination has been so easy.

Certain influencers and celebrities have been posting about light therapy devices and the average Jane (and Joe...) gets FOMO. Fear of missing out.

Don't get us wrong. Light therapy is actually a cool way or an alternative way to treat certain skin conditions. It is backed by science and it has been widely studied to improve skin with continued use. (1)

But, you have to remember that not all light therapy devices are created equal.

What does Trophy Skin's RejuvaliteMD has to offer?

Trophy Skin's RejuvaliteMD has been around for a while now. Originally called RedMD, our red light therapy lamp has been to a lot of improvement.

We used to have fluorescent bulbs that needed 20 minutes or more to work. Because of our customer's feedback, we decided to look for a way to trim down the treatment time because for real, who has 20 minutes to spare daily?

Another consideration is the 20-minute treatment time makes the fluorescent bulb hot. Some people fall asleep during the treatment and it's a hazard! Another point is the lamp's arm and shape is not very flexible. It is hard to position the panel to hit the area you want to treat.

So, we went back to the drawing board.

The first thing we needed to revamp are the source of light. We changed the fluorescent bulb to medical grade LED bulbs. We used red, yellow, amber and infrared LED bulbs to penetrate the skin at different levels.

The next improvement is we shortened the treatment time for 5 minutes. Because the LED bulbs can concentrate their output compared to the scattered output of fluorescent bulbs, it delivers the same amount of energy in a shorter span.

We also made use of a flexible arm that you can bend and twist to any position. This allows users to manipulate the lamp into whatever comfortable position they may like. It is easier to do treatments sitting down, standing up or if you are on the couch or bed. It's up to you, really!

And for good measure, we built an auto shut-off feature to make sure you won't toast your skin if ever you fall asleep during treatment.

Do you need Red Light Therapy treatment?

Our RejuvaliteMD is FDA-cleared to heal full facial wrinkles. Red light therapy is a great way to heal the skin from within. The different wavelengths of red light penetrate the skin at different levels, causing healing from the inside out.

It is also a great way to undo sun damage. It helps lighten age spots and hyperpigmentation. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that's why it is also used to accelerate wound healing.

Red light therapy stimulates collagen production and helps improve the skin's elasticity and firmness. This is a great alternative to ageless skin without having to spend thousands of dollars in invasive treatments.

We recommend using RejuvaliteMD at least once daily. A 5-minute treatment is enough but you may do several treatments if you like.

We recommend positioning the LED panel 4 to 6 inches away from the face to get maximum coverage. You may also do 2 treatments, 1 on each side of the face for better coverage.

We've provided goggles with the kit to protect the eyes during treatment. Do not stare directly at the LED bulbs to prevent discomfort and eye damage.

It is normal to see 3 strips of bulbs that do not light up. These are the infrared bulbs that do not produce any color. These work at 880 nm and penetrates the skin the deepest to help heal the skin.
